15 Years of Recognizing
and Encouraging Leadership
The Joe Curley Rising Leader program honors up-and-coming
FPRA members who have demonstrated emerging leadership
traits and active involvement in FPRA chapter activities,
programs, functions and events.
In 2025, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Joe Curley
Rising Leader program, a signi昀椀cant milestone that truly
showcases the program’s profound impact on nurturing
leadership within the Florida Public Relations Association
and beyond.
The Joe Curley Rising Leader program recognizes the personal
dedication and engagement of members with two to 昀椀ve years
of membership. It is intended to encourage those rising leaders
and strengthen the leadership development stream
at the chapter level.
Since its creation, the Joe Curley Rising Leader program has recognized
185 FPRA members as Rising Leader Class members. Of those, 90% have served
in a leadership role within the organization at the chapter and state level and
have gone on to have fulfilling careers as leaders.
The Rising Leader program was made possible through the endowed Joe Curley
Rising Leader Fund held with the Manatee Community Foundation. This program is
managed by the Florida Public Relations Education Foundation.
